Default torque convertor

Yes i was thinking of getting a torque convertor. I was wondering what to get and if i need to do any transmisson work first. I have a 2003 gt, automatic. I have pulley's, k+n, accufab throttle body, and plenum, x-pipe, magnaflow's, 3:73 gears, sct custom tune, and subframe connectors.I was also wondering if there was something totally different you guy's would recommend doing first. Two more questions, how would a convertor effect gas mileage, and traction. Would I still be able to stick with street tires, or would i have to get drag's to see improvement in 60 ft time?

drags will definitely help. i would also recemend doing a shift kit and a trans cooler while you have the shop at it, it will save you some money on labor (trans cooler's aren't very expensive either)

the converter just lets you foot brake into the higher rpms(depending on the stall in the converter) to help you have more power off the line. Shift kit is highly recommended and along with the transcooler, your transmission should love you. After that is all said and done, you should be looking at mid 13s. Gas Mileage shouldnt be affected by a converter unless its a lockup type.
