RE: cobra/GT brake calipers
Well, after looking at them, there's a few differences:
1. The Mounting bracket has longer ears for the Cobras, to make way for the larger rotors
2. The cobras have retaining pins that hold the pads in the caliper housing. GT's use clips and shims.
3. Cobras have a different outer body all together.
I think the size is approximately the same, but I don't think the GT brakes will work w/ the Cobra Mounting Brackets.. It's still raining (like a week and a half so far), so I can't exactly run outside to take some pictures, but I think you get the picture, right??

RE: cobra/GT brake calipers
yeah, i understand what you're saying. Im gonna get the 13" rear brake kit. I talked to the guy at musclemotors.com who sells it and he said the brackets for their 13" kit can be used for either the GT or cobra calipers. thats why I was wondered if it was really worth it to replace the stock calipers as long as mine aren't f'ed up.
The rear brakes dont do all that much for stopping power (compared to the front), so I figure ill go with the 13" rotors and stock calipers for looks, since its about the same price as the cobra rear upgrade kit after you buy the kit and new drilled rotors. Ill be going with mach I calipers and drilled rotors up front too.

RE: cobra/GT brake calipers
Just to let you know, the rear calipers on both GT's and Cobras are identical.. It's the backing plate that is different, along w/ the anti-moan brace.. A lot of folks say they had a bitch of a time doing it.. Besides the moan braces being a little bigger, I had no problems at all...
13in Rotors in the rear is sort of useless though, not to knock your idea.. In fact, the only way a 13in rotor would be of any use, would be if you changed the proportioning valve, and sent a little more power to the rear...
