Crate motor or S/C?

RE: Crate motor or S/C?
The KB GT guy I was talking about a few posts ago and I refer to quite often... He had around 57ks when he got his done. The Vortec, but don't take my word for it, he had around 60ks. He's getting a basic rebuild at 80ks is what he told me. Me, I have around 44ks on mine and that blower is still going on. That motor, as long as you take care of it, will last. If you go WOT everytime you go to the corner store, or everytime you get on the highway, she's gonna give, unless you rebuild the internals with some heavy duty forged stuff.

Maintainance is the key....Pop the hood and check how things are running, have it checked up buy a mechanic, and, of course, make sure you get your oil changed on time, every time.
When it comes down to putting a supercharger on the stang with 75k miles, determine whether or not the miles were mostly highway or city. Also take note on how it was driven. Forged internals would give you some peace at mind, but there are many other factors, other than mileage, that contribute to the concept of a worthy engine for such an upgrade.
