Default Ticking noise GRRRR

Ok so I just took my car back to make sure I had no exhaust leaks from the Mid pipe install. Nothing, Nadda... I have the stock diablo tune on my car and it sounds like it's almost detonating, pinging when driving.. I am using 93 octane. I get home and when I open the drivers door with the engine running I can really make out a ticking noise which speeds up with the throttle (very noticeable). The car only has 10K miles on it, Has NEVER been to the track and only really done 4-5 street races. I have no clue wtf this is but it's annoying as hell and going to the dealer tommorow for some other stuff.

Any ideas? It is more noticeable on the drivers side behind the front wheel for the most part. Should I remove the diablo tune from the car when I take it in? (I haven't played with the diablo at all, the shop did all the tuning stuff when they did my gears)...

I'm kinda bummed that I'm having all these "little" problems with my fairly new mustang ...

lower the timing on the diablo tune see if it goes away. if your going to the dealer tomorrow take out the diablo tune !!! it will void your warranty.

I have an 04 mustang and I have the same problem. I just got a new clutch and flywheel so they had to remove the midpipe. I have long tubes and when i accelerate i can really hear the ticking. Its very annoying, sounds like ****. At first I could feel the air comming out of the seals. Then I tightened it and now there isnt any air comming out at idle but I cant drive and feel it at the same time.

I know you said you don;t ahve any leaks but a consistent ticking noise is the almost instantaneously associated with an exhaust leak. IF you bumped up your timing with the predator and hear the tick at idle it is not the timing advance. Even if you max out the advance on the timing using the predaotr you will only be at 11* timing at idle, this will not cause a ticking noise. I am willing to bet a lot that it is your midpipe and if you have an aftermarket one it it probably loose in a certian spot and/or the gasket that connects it to the manifold is F'd up in one way or another. I wold get under your car and tighten that midpipe up.

At work we used to put zip ties on each other's axles to cause a ticking sound. That's probably not the case with you though huh...
