my buddy and i put a trans go kit in my tranny. if you do not know any thing about automatics i would reccomend having a shop do it. we had to drill and open up alot of ports in my valve body. replace a half dozen springs, insert spacers and so on.. it is deffinately worth it though. and yes, you can just leave it in "d", thats what i always do. when i first bought the car i hoped it was a 5 speed, but with the low miles(11,500) i had to take it. i can grab a mean second and get a chirp outa 3rd. combined with my 4.10's it runs pretty good for a non pi car... i am not regretten having an auto at this time as much before..

Sell the car... get a manual... The statement about the auto tranny always outshifting a manual... this is true but the auto tranny is still only has 4 gears... So the shift kit kinda helps but still its not even close to the same performance wise. I'm so against auto trannies in sports cars lol... sorry its my opinion... I would take a v6 stang over an auto GT. Only stipulation when i was buying my car was it had to be manual. 1000 times more fun. I had a 4.0 5 speed ranger before my stang lol.. that thing could do some mean burnouts... rearend was sooo light.
