Default GT VS MACH 1

I was wondering what gives the mach 1 that extra 45 horsepower. I know that the mach 1 is dohc not sohc like the gt and it also has stock 3:55 gears and a nice upgrade in its suspension. But other than that im not sure. Does anyone know?
