Default Bolt Problem

While putting on my O/R x-pipe one of the drive side bolts that connects the x-pipe and manifold broke off. Now there is a big gap and it is really noisy, there is also a small leak on the passanger side from the x-pipe to the manifold. I believe the driver side needs taped and pulled out and a new bolt put in. The local shop wanted almost $120 to do that. Would I be better off to get a tap and do it myself (or have my friend do it) and how hard would that be because I really do not want to spend $120 for a gay exhaust leak. Also if that gap is fixed do you think it would correct the passanger side (maybe with the bolt missing its hanging a lil throwing the whole pipe off?) Thanks

Default RE: Bolt Problem

well the exhaust shop that put on our impalas exhaust did something cool. i broke 2 bolts trying to do it myself and make ti work, so they drilled them out and welded in two new studs. unfortunately, the exhaust work on the mustangs is a biotch considering they are so low.

but yeah tap and re bolt that mount, and then make sure you crank down on the passenger side exhaust connection to the manifold first and then the rest, then after all are snug go around and crank down one more time
