Spend a few extra bucks and get a pro dyno tune. The handhelds are generic pre-set tunes. A pro will get every little HP possible, usually. Its worth it.

Well, you can get a dyno tune with a handheld tuner, its really just a dyno run after you program the tuner. A dyno tune really usually uses a chip that is programmed to specific areas that your car needs to improve on. Think of it this way, a Diablo lets say, is like a general tune for all mustangs, where as a pro dyno tune from a speed shop is a tune just for your car with whatever specific parts you have. Both work but one just a little better than the other.

If you can get a predator for $200 then do it.. I, like many if not most people on here, have it and love it... the best tune with it (without getting a custom tune) is putting in the diablotune and maxing out the spark advance (making sure to use premium gas).. it worth it at full price much less 200 bucks.

You should ask yourself why is this person selling you a Diablo for 200.00? Watch out for scams! (unless you know the guy)

It really depends on the shop and how they have set-up their dyno costs and what type of programmer they use. My guy says that a chip with 4 banks comes with one free program and I need another for the juice so two programs for about 540.00 out the door. Each program is an hour on the dyno. Thats not a bad deal considering a Diablo is what like 400.00 something?

Not entirely true. A dyno tune can be done with a Diablo or SCT hand held tuner the same as with a chip. Diablo or SCT professional tuning software allows a tune to be written for your specific vehicle, with your specific mods, based on dyno and datalogging information. The flash tuner is simply the means used to download it to your vehicle. You are referring to the generic tunes that come pre-loaded on the flash tuner - not the same thing.

bsteen81, $200 is not an unusually low price for a used Predator.
