97 reverse grind

97 reverse grind
I have a 97 mustang w/ t45. 1st-5th gears shift fine. The problem is reverse. When I shift into reverse and start to release the clutch it will disengage and grind. The only way I can get the car to move in reverse is to barley release the clutch for a second or two. It almost seems as if the shift fork is not engaging reverse completely.
It has new clutch and stock shifter. Any suggestions or related problems. 2nd tranny with same issues and I do not power shift.

RE: 97 reverse grind
It's just the fact that the T45 is a crappy transmission. You could put in a thousand T45's in your car and every one will do the same thing. It's not that the shift fork isn't engaging right. When I had my tranny rebuilt, the shop showed me my reverse gear and the teeth were really mauled so they replaced it. Sorry to say, but the only way to fix your problem is the have the reverse gear replaced.
