Strange sound help!!
I have a 03 Mustang GT. stick shift. sometimes when i touch the clutch it makes a weird humming sound. just pressing my foot lightly. If i apply more pressure it stops until i put my foot all the way down and it is a little louder. the closest thing i can pin it to is when you overstart your car. but quieter than that. Can someone help >?

RE: Strange sound help!!
yeah the ford TOBs suck a$$.
it serves as a point where the clutch can touch the release fork... IE it is a bearing so the spinning motion spins the bearing not the fork...
when you push the clutch down, the cable pulls on the fork, the fork pushes on the TOB and the TOB pushes on the clutch

RE: Strange sound help!!
When i am in netural and i go to put the clutch down to go into first it makes a squeaky sound then if i let go and stay in netural and barley even touch the clutch it makes the sound. those r the only times it happens. how much do those bearing cost if it is that and what causes these to go bad. also could it be the clutch going bad?
