Default Tire CLEARANCE problem!!!!!

I went to have my 315's put on today and there is a clearance problem with a bolt and the tire at the top of the IRS (01 Cobra). I read that this was only a prob with the 03cobras due to a beefed up bolt but that is apperantly false. My question is do I need wheel spacers or can I put some washers on there like the guy at tire kingdom said [&:]. If wheel spacers are the way which ones should I get, where from, and how wide? Ive read that it is only a problem when the suspensionis unloaded and once you lower the car everything works just fine, any truth to this??? Ive tried to do some research but im pressed for time since this is my daily driver. Thanks

there is a replacement bolt you can buy for it...I've heard discussions about it...don't know who makes it. I also believe you could just shave down the bolt, but not 100% sure.

There are only a few trains of thought on this...

A) Get HUBCENTRIC wheel spacers. Yes, they're pricey, but consider the options..

B) Get a slightly smaller width tire. Sure, you've already dumped the cash into them, but you can sell them and get some others..

C) Get different rims w/ a better offset. Then proceed to get longer wheel studs. This is probably the preferred method for most. It's costly, but once it's done, it's done. No need to mess w/ putting on Spacers, or any instability that might be caused by spacers.

Using washers is just plain silly.. It'd be hard to torque your lug nuts to the proper specs since the washers would most likely crush a little. Also, it'd be tough to make sure that they were all aligned correctly, and that your wheel was perfectly centered on the hub...

I'd say it's time to invest...

I think he means washers on the problem bolt...not on his wheels

I don't think that'll solve his problem either. In fact, that'll push that bolt further towards the tire, if it's the one bolt I'm thinking of...

I've seen people use washers on their lug nuts, and frankly it scares me... It's just not safe, nor does it work that well...
