Default Plugs

Anyone have any suggestions on plugs for the 4.8? Any suggestions as to which mileage they should be changed out? I have 29K on my stang and maybe I'm due? Also, I hate gapping plugs...can they be found pre-gapped?

You mean 4.6, right? Anyway, at 29K on your engine, you do not necessarily need new plugs yet. I found a newer designed plug that I put in my '98 GT vert and am really pleased with the performance. Supposed to burn cleaner and improve mileage also. They have a 100,000 mile/5 year warranty and come "pre-gapped" so you don't have to touch anything before installing. Advance Auto Parts has the best price on them at $6.99 each. You will more than likely have to order them but they will arrive the next day. JC Whitney also carries them but at around $8.99 a plug.

Check out the site at: www.e3sparkplugs.com

Good luck and enjoy your ride!

i'd say do them at around 50-60k.

100k lasting spark plugs is just bull sh**. yeah they'll last but your performance will diminish and efficiency

get the motorcraft OEM plugs that are about $4 each and you will be very happy, don't get crazy expensive plugs unless you are heavily modified

4.8! Where did you get a 4.8?

IMO NGK TR series FTW. You can get them at most parts stores like Car Quest.
