i have the 5.4 swap and i figure the predator would give me some power...i guessed wrong i went to the local dyno and 10 runs later i couldnt get anymore then 6 hp of the damn predator.......no either the dyno sucks or the 4.6 stock computer isnt compatible with the 5.4 the car runs fine just can cant any ponys out of the perdator??? any suggestions

with a dyno tune using the preadtor, i went from 223 RWHP to 250 RWHP. My A/F was wayyyyy off

its a sohc 5.4 from a 2003 expidition.....i made 280 rwhp and 320 torque untuned but my air fuel was fine and advancing the timing didnt do anything but give me 6 hp...i think it was the dyno it was a noname shop and i got it for free cuz i know the owner.....

thats not bad numbers for a stock 5.4 how does it feel compared to the 4.6?

from what i remember about darkhorses swap, youre not gonna see a huge difference over a pi 4.6 in hp anyway. and i remember the intake manifold he was using was real restrictive compared to the navigator one, i think he had the 4.6 on it. you may have just reached your limits with the power you can get out the 5.4 as-is. what did you use for the intake manifold?

If your A/f was fine, you might not get anything out of the tune. It could be that you were just real close to ideal timing and a/f already, so changing it didn't make much difference.

i dont have the money to buy an intake manifold but i just bought a 5.4 lightning lower manifold so i'm gonna see is i can play around with it and make my own intake manifold thats less restrictive....till i have enough to buy the blower.......
