Hello all. It is great to be a new member to this forum! I have some questions reguarding which mustang year and model I should buy. I suppose you all current owners can help me out with my decision. First off my budget is about 16,5K so this puts me in the market for a 2001 max. My next concern is being able to beat a stock Camero with a stock Mustang, so I guess this puts me in the cobra category. I would prefer have the new generation body style. This puts me at a 1999 Cobra to fit my budget. What do you guys think about this model v.s. a 97 or 98 cobra? Anyway please help lead me in the right direction. Thanks Jesse.

Yeah, the GT's were asthmatic in those years but the Cobra is a different animal.I would love to own a 98 Cobra,if you can fit something like that into your budget you should jump at the chance.

If you prefer a newer generation body style, then forget the 97-98 and just go with a 99! I prefer the 99-up myself, and I think the 97-98 are nice, but the newer bodystyle has just got me hooked. You should be able to find a nice 99 cobra somewhere around your budget, probably a little bit less. Good luck with your choice!

Cool, sounds like the '99 cobrais the way to go. Will the stock stang beat a stock new generation Camero? Also, I am thinking about leaving everything stock except for a blower. I know there are alot of them out there aftermarket but where can I find a roots type. Similar to the '03 with an aftercooler. Or better yet, can a blower from an '03 cobra fit a '99 cobra?
