RE: speeding??
It all depends on the state. Here in MI, speeding goes like this in non limited access speed areas (freeways) 1-10 over - 2pts and $100, 11-14 over 3pts $150, 15-24 over - considered careless driving 4pts $200+, 25+over - considered reckless driving 6pts fines/puishment is at the discretion of the judge. The weird thing is, is that if you kill someone with your car its only 5pts..... WTF!
Depending on your judge/magistrate, and your driving record (that more than likely will be the determining factor), youll probably only recieve a hefty fine and a driving safety course. Remember dress nice, treat the judge with respect, and be very apologetic and tell em youll never going to do it again. Its worked for me several times. You could get a lawyer, but from what Ive seen, theyre not very helpful, unless youre trying to restore your license, etc.

In New Jersey, there is this thing called the Unsafe Driving Act. You can only use it twice in your lifetime. You can use it in court without a lawyer and plead guilty, of course, and all you do is pay the fines, no points, no insurance b/s, and no state surcharges. I think it may be an act everywhere, look into it because i'm about to use my first one for 62 in a 45, not as bad as you guys but i just got my license in march, cops in my town just put miles all on the car, thats it. They would not hesitate to shoot you and send 5-6 patrol cars if you stole fritos from a seven eleven.
