c&c plate woes

RE: c&c plate woes
all right, i'll look into all that...
all I took off was the caliper to allow easy moving of the strut, which is all tight and hunky dory and brakes work fine
then i just removed the old c&c plates and installed the new ones... everything's tight. I looked on the underside of the hood and I don't see any nicks or scratches where something could have been hitting it.. it sounds like metal on metal so I don't think it could be the fiberglass hood[:@][:@]

RE: c&c plate woes
yea well we're in the same boat monkeydude. Mine rattle like marbles in a coffee can. I have UPR 3 bolts as well. Has anyone put on a set of c/c plates that hasn't made any unusual noises at all????? if so, which brand and where did you get them??

RE: c&c plate woes
okay, slight update...
i went with my dad and had him drive the car, just to show him i'm not losing my mind. 5 minutes into driving, he comments on the clunking "man that is freaking annoying"
so we get it home and put the frame on jack stands AGAIN... and I put the jack under the A arm and jack it up slightly... I hold my finger on the top of the strut by the bushing in the C&C plate, and I feel approx 1/16th to 1/32nd of an inch of play IN THE BUSHING... so these are defective crap. So I'm calling UPR tomorrow and leaving an angrier message, because oh yeah they haven't gotten back to me yet.
They are refunding my money or replacing these plates with good ones or better ones or I will slander the crap out of their name everywhere
::sigh::
on a side note, big bubba our impala should be sea worthy again sunday... gotta bleed the brakes and for a week or two I can cruise in that while I figure out wtf to do with my car
