RE: cams
I installed my "stage 1" cams from comp cams... XE-262 if I remember.. Yes they require new vslve springs. Any cam that has .550" lift needs new valve springs. I didnt degree the cams or anything I just marked the slot on the chain where the cams where origanally at and in relation to the crank and I swaped them. I used a special spring compressor for replacing the valve springs. So everything cost me about $1000 for the cam swap. Frankly, I wish I went with stage 2 cams, but they wre out of stock when I was looking for them, and I was leaving so I was under time constraint. My stage 1's cut off at 5500rpm. I rev up to 6300rpm. Stage 2 would have sounded better and would have pulled until redline..

I know I didn't pick up anything significant until about 5500. I was acutally pretty disapointed with my cams other than the sound. All of that changed with the blower install, they really made a crapton of power once the boost was flowin.
