4:10 gear dilemma
I just got my 2002 GT and I put:
SLP loudmouth Catback
Pypes x-pipe with high flow cats
c&l intake
bbk 85mm maf sensor
bbk throttle body and plenum
Ive heard people say that on the freeway the rpms go to high and that the mileage is crappy. Also did u guys notice a good increase in throttle and takeoff with them?

RE: 4:10 gear dilemma
I just got 4.10's about 3 days ago, RPMS are not that much higher and my car is actually quieter on the highway because my engine speed is higher than the known "flowmaster drone". I absolutley love my 4.10

RE: 4:10 gear dilemma
well depends, in a T-45 which turn higher RPMs 4.10s are fine, thats for a 96-01.5, in an 01.5 up they turn less RPMs and can get away with 4.30s, they do however have the same 3.37 first gear ratio, so first will be super short, if you dont mind that, or start off in second, go with 4.30s

RE: 4:10 gear dilemma
I love my 4.10`s but now that i`m used to them, I want 4.30`s. (Not gonna happen though) I averaged 20.25 mpg on my last couple fill ups. Not bad. If I drive on the highway, I usually don`t go above 70. With stock 3.27 gears and the TR3650 trans you turn 2000 rpm`s at 70. With 4.10`s you turn 2400 rpm`s at 70.
