I would be interested to know how much weight could be removed if you pulled out the seats, spare, carpet and radio.

Like .2 worth... insanely ****ing pointless is how much its worth haha. You could empty your car out and have a drivers seat, steering wheel, no dash trim windows anything... and still get beat by a stock LS1.
Yeah, but it seems like you could free up about 120 lbs.

Which in all reality is absolutely nothing. A gutted out car for what? To say you ran a 14.2 instead of a 14.35?

well, I doubt I am in the 14's, but 2/10's can be a lot on a track.

well i know i switched to racing style seats and that alone was almost 50lbs in savings try to lift your factory power seats, but everyone laughs at losing a few pounds then goes out a puts a $200 intake on there car that sucks in engine heat and probally makes the car run worse, unless you get the full cold air kit.... and that did less for your car than removing 100lbs off your car, and you can lose 50lbs just with simple removal of spare and jack, padding all over and anything else you dont need, and more with lighter seats, hood, then get a lighter flywheel, and keep going, just saying the question was free power or hp, well here is a idea lose all the weight you can..... why do most track cars have no power windows, panels, ac, heater, etc gee i wonder....

I don't think the 4.6 has any free mods. There were some on my LS1 believe it or not, but I haven't heard of any for the stang.

I have a 2002 gt also. Bro, go with gears, exhaust, intake, etc.... you will feel a difference. especially after the gears! Just do your research and talk with the guys on here. alot of really smart guys on here when dealing with building up your stang!
