I had read an article on that in a magazine and liked it. I like the MGW for the 360 degree adjustability... but who needs to go that far?

I figure maybe I can pick one up used eventually

would this be an okay move to make, buying a used shifter? Any way to make sure it's in good shape?

what is powershifting. is it when you shift so damn fast u dont have to put the clutch in???

Powershifting is when you shift, WITH the clutch (don't try to do so without it) and never lift your foot off the gas.

I know I did not do it that often with the T-45, and 3rd gear ate the big one... twice. Now that really sucked.

and yes, the cable is fixed and feels gloriously smooth! much better than the stock setup, makes the supposedly stiff king cobra feel better than stock

I don't see a problem with buying a used one, as long as the owner cleans it from all that nasty gunk that collects on it. I would look at the classifieds on this forum isntead of on Ebay. Less scumbags here than on Ebay.

have you ever seen a T45 apart? I know first hand why 3rd would blow out... 1st and 2nd gear have double synchros, 3rd, -5th and reverse have single synchros... I do not know why they did not reinforce 3rd as well... but seeing it I mainly just want to powershift 1st-2nd because IMO that's one of the biggest jumps off the line

i recommend to not powershift unless you want to replace your tranny. powershifting is what you are WOT and dont take your foot off the gas and put the clutch in fast while still under wot. very bad.

I took it off a little and then used clutch and shifted 2nd off clutch back WOT and it felt smooth and I just got a nice kick in the seat

mind you I am driving an NPI and it's the fastest car i've owned, so it's not a great kick but a kick is a kick! [8D]

the 3/8 thick metal mines made of would probably take a piece of metal or a gorilla to bend or warp
if i hadnt of ran over my stock shifter I'd take pictures of the two to show the difference in strnght

Sorry if I'm stealing the thread, but does everyone here drop the clutch when trying to shift fast? It became a habit of me and I hate that really obnoxious slamming sensation I get. Feels like I'm damaging something. Am I?
