351C swap....
My did wants to trade motors with me, he is going to give me his 351C that supposed to be pushing over 450hp. Would this be a cheaper route then going with a bare 4.6 block and building a whole motor then to just build off the 5.8?

RE: 351C swap....
im not sure, never seen a swap like that before, in the long run you could get more power from the 351, it would be sweet though to see a blower sticking out the hood of a newer style mustang!

RE: 351C swap....
i know im going to need alot of new things but im still thinking its going to be cheaper than building a whole engine. Where as the 351C is already kind of suped up and all i really have to change is the intake manifold so it will be fuel injected, find header or customize some and maybe a tranny like you said. And with little mod to the 351 i will have like 500whp where as teh 4.6 would take alot more.

RE: 351C swap....
They never made a fuel injected 351C. If you want to go injected, you'll be going aftermarket...and the good systems aren't cheap. Most (Holley, Edelbrock, etc.) are speed density, which isn't really that good of a system. You could go this route for 3-4 big bills. I don't have any personal experience with them, but at least they sell the correct style of injection.
That said, I would say go with the 351C. It doesn't sound like you have emission inspections where you're at, so you'll be in good shape there. Too bad you didn't come across a nice 429CJ....that'd be sweeeet in the engine bay of the modern Stang.[sm=americanasmiley.gif]
