Default 3v vs 4v, which is better?

I wanna upgrade from my 00 gt pretty soon. I'm having a hard time deciding between late 4v stangs like mach1 or 03/04cobra or the new 3v stangs. I know what the cobras can do and how much their rotationg assemblys can handle which is really impressive. But does enyone know how high on power you can go with 3v and still be safe? I dont particularly wanna spend a lot of money on a car and blow it up. Or maybee how much it would run to strengthen the 3v motor and if it's worth it. Those 3v heads seem to be super efficient and from the stories i've read seem to take upgrades better than the 4v (naturally aspirated), but i could be very wrong. And as far as handling, it seem that 03/04 cobra with IRS, should be superrior to the 05^ stangs. Is that true? decisions, decisoins... Eny help would be greatly appreciated. Also, has enyone seen the hp turbo web site, or does enyone have any experience with that twin turbo setup? Acoording to them, 03/04 cobras are putting down close to 800h to the wheels at only 15-16 psi. Thats just incredible... heres the link http://www.turbochargedpower.com/

Default RE: 3v vs 4v, which is better?

The 3v motor is actually more efficient than the 4v motor. The 3v motor in stock form is probablty safe til around 480 rwhp. An ideal setup would be a built 3v motor. (like the motor Saleen sticks in the S281E) The obvious bonus to the cobra's 4v motor is the forged internals. As far as handling goes, the IRS on paper should provide the most in cornering, but an 06 gt and an 04 cobra aren't too far off. You could make either handle very well if so desired.

go with a used low mile mach 1, its has more potential than the 3v 05's but dousnt handle as nice.

you can get a used mach-1 in my area for about 17-22g's but 05-06's seem to still pull in 22-28g's used !!! LOL

4v revs higher and the mach-1 is a little bit lighter, plus the computer is more mod friendly

RUle of thumb the 3v performes 90% as good as the 4v but cost 50% less.
