definitely good for future mods and dress up but if you take off the silencer and put a good aftermerket filter on it you will be about as good

Its not a major difference unless you are adding a blower to your car, then I would def recomend it.

Your stock box is a cai with limited surface area. With a sc or blower, you'll need to increase the surface area of the filter to allow for the increase of air intake. On a natural; aspirated motor, you'll gain a little with a cai, as long as it's well engineered as to not pull any hot air from the engine compartment.
