When I bought my car last year it had a K-member on it already by http://www.need-4-speed.com/ajeracing.htm

strengthens, stiffens, reduces weight, allows greater access to areas not easily accessible...anybody confirm this?

+1.
And from a lot of the Mustangs and F-Bodies I've seen, it's an often overlooked modification...

I like the MM one but if you get into an accident and have replaced the stock K with an aftermarket your insurance company can refuse to fix the damage to your car. I confirmed this with my agent.

AAA also offered to cover my mods, but thet were more expensive. I called all the other major insurance companies I could think of, and none of them would cover more than stereo and wheels/tires.
BTW - My MM front suspension upgrade was one of the best mods I ever did!

Well, it appears that Granatelli is the winner, as I suspected. Saving weight is a part of the equation, but getting some clearance around the motor is a bigger part of the swap. The granatelli just looks to be a lot stronger, more substantial if you will. I think the insurance company would be happier with that one, since I don't race the car.
Thanks for the few votes that I received.
P.S. UPR is about the last thing I'll put on my car. Based on everything I've heard, I rate them about one notch above MAC.
