I was driving home, and i was about to the stop sign, so i pushed the clutch all the way to the floor and went to put it into 1st, when my clutch literally exploded!! It was a brand new clutch with less than 500 miles on it. Every since it was in it has felt funny. When the pedal is all the way out it would squeak, and when u pushed it to the floor it would still have problems goind into gear. I took it back to him and he said it was fine and not to worry about it, and a week later my clutch blows up.

Does anyone know why my clutch plate blew up? He upgraded it to a 10.5" clutch, so i figured the difference in the pedal was that, but it never felt right, it always engaged funny.

Any suggestions on a good new clutch? I am not trusting him again so i am going to install it myself this time around so i know its right. He put a new flywheel on my car also when he had it apart.

 

did they replace the pressure plate and throw out bearing when they installed the clutch?

 

Im not sure, i plan on asking them tomorrow though, why what r u thinking they did?

that's odd... my king cobra is smooth as silk. Did every part of the install the way it was supposed to and it works great. Maybe someone fuggled up the install

 

could be rear main leaking.....clutch got hot and popped

 

I've had a clutch disc explode on me while I was RACING, but never when I was just driving around...


Usually, it'll blow up from heat, and constant shock (popping the clutch, burnouts, etc..)
