I don't want to sound like a dick, but this was supposed to be ANOTHER Fuel Economy Thread, not an argument of whose got the bigger sack...

I never said you could put a cobra sc on a gt I know that doesnt work. that reply was in response to the kid saying he wanted to sc his car and then stroke it to a 5.8 later, and you said he couldnt use the same sc, when you actually can

Next time before you start sticking sh$t in the wrong place read....

I was talking about the 5.8 stroker going in after the 4.6 blew...

Yeah.. Ive thought about s/c it before but i had about 90,000 miles on my motor when I put the Nos on. I didnt really want to invest 4000 into a s/c that wasnt gonna fit the stroker motor that is going in next after this motor goes.. I figured with a s/c at 90k wouldnt last very long..

ORIGINAL: avlon06

hey blck98GT.. you ever thinking about s/c your car? cuz i would run a 100 shot but i dont know if its worth spending the money because by next summer i plan on getting a s/c...

If all your wanting is fuel economy... the 3.73's will be a good fit. But, if you still wanna feel the power under ya... get the 4.10's. It won't your gas much, but if its gas only that your worried about... there are other cars that are made for that type of thing. Its really a matter of personal opinion. I would vote 4.10's with my $0.02.

Looking at changing the gears in my 02 GT. I've been told that 4:10's really screw up your fuel economy and 5th gear will run like 3,000 RPM at 70MPH?Thanks!
Who ever told that is a complete dumb ***. The differance between a 3.73 and a 4.10 in 5th gear will be about 200 rpm. Your gas mpg will not suffer very much and many people who actually OWN 4.10's report better milage in town. Remember that most people here telling you to go with 3.73's have never had 4.10's and there for cannot give you a good comparison.

Once again.. that right there is a personal opinion.
How is simple math an opinion?
