Default 87 octane vs 93

Hey guys I have been having for my car for I guess about 6 months now and all I run is premium fuel(93 octane) and I currently do not have a tune. Within the next 2 or 3 months I'm going to continue to add things to my car and then get an SCT tune, or maybe before that time period. But do you think I'm just wasting money getting the premium over the 87 since I'm pretty sure my car doesnt have a tune. So is it worth it to keep putting 93 or should I run 87 until I get a tune. I mean if the premium actually gives me like maybe somethin small like 5hp or something I'll keep doing it. But if it doesnt help out at all until I get a tune, then I will start putting regular and saving a pretty penny lol my premium around here is about 3.00-3.09 at some places.

Premium wont`t do anything for you unless your car is tuned. If your totally stock, run 87..... Premium doesn`t add HP.

It is only like 3 a tank difference to use the super. Not a bank account killer.

I ran 87 then it knocked some when I started it after letting it sit for a week or two. I run 93 now.

I run 89, a happy medium. Actually I don't even have a choice for 93, 91 is all we out here.

I was running 87 in both my Mustang and Expedition (before I traded it in on a Tahoe which currently used 87). They both ran like crap. I changed to 93 and had no further problems.

I had a '93 Probe GT (first year of new style). It was a premium fuel only vehicle. If you had '93 or later GT and put 87 in it, that was a big mistake. I ran 93 for 9 years. Sold for 3K with over 100K on the dials in 2002. Great car really.

Anyway, I run 89 with the timing advance to 14 degrees total. No issues even in 100 degree temps.
