Default UD pulleys install?

does the steeda Underdrive Pulley's need a puller for any of the pulleys?......or do they unbolt and slip off? does anything else need to come off to allow ease of installation? is steeda the best to get?

You'll need to pull your crankshaft pully off with a puller. As far as Steeda goes, I have heard they are good. The main thing everyone will tell you is to stay away from the piggyback systems(where your orginal crankshaft pully bolts onto the new one). I found it extremley easy to use a air impact wrench for the crankshaft and alternator pully. In order to gain access to the crankshaft pully, I had to remove the cooling fan(not hard at all). With the impact it took me about 60 min. It probally will take longer if you didn't use an impact because you would have to deal with the alternator and crankshaft pullys spining while trying to get them off. I personally do not recommed this mod. I think it is a waste of money. All I do is get crappy battery charge at night. Yes, at stoplights my lights go a little dimmer and my AC charge isn't that good. IMO, I would just get catback or some gears.

Thanks for this information as my pulleys are being delivered today. having my headlights dim a bit at a light is no big deal and you have not had your battery go dead so it must charge the battery adequately. My tuner cvan raise the idle rpm's if I chose to do so. The pulleys add 5 WHP dyno proven and if you have a 2v 4.6 there is not much to do for HP gains unles you go with a SC and that is not something I can afford. Plus there is a mileage increase when you add the timing adjuster from steeda that increases the timing up to 10* but most guys go with 4*. I also have a Predator tune and many guys are misled as to what the stock predator tune does, NOT MUCH! It is a generic tune meant to be safe for many vehicles. On the other hand the SCT, especially as sold by Brenspeed, comes with a custom tune for YOUR car and YOUR mods. Brent does this hgimself for each SCT he sells. You would be surprised with the differences. He even takes into account what state you live in. He said especially down low is where the stock timing suffers the most. Mark
