4.6 to 5.4 block?

RE: 4.6 to 5.4 block?
Block? The difference between them is that the 5.4 has a longer stroke than the 4.6, because of this, the 5.4 has a taller deck height.
You'll need a different crank, I'm not sure on the rods, they may be the same. The pistons will be the same because it has the same bore.
You're not going to pick up as much power as you could hope, the biggest restriction is the heads. 2v heads just don't flow enough for even the 4.6, they are just as bad for the 5.4.
Otherwise, all your other things will transfer right over, you'll need a 5.4 intake manifold, OR you can use your 4.6 intake manifold with a couple of spacers.

Yes it will bolt up. I don't know why more people don't consider the 5.4. It's not much more than a 4.6 when you're paying for a built short block for either variant. It's a modular motor so it's 99% the same. You may need to modify some of your blower tubing because the dimensions won't be identical between the two blocks... it'll be close though.
