Traction w/ Gears
my car is pretty much stock right now...just lowered right now...will i be able to hook up with 3.73s? or should i invest in some control arms while i am gettin the gears done?

RE: Traction w/ Gears
I think fatter back tires with dr's should do the trick. I seem to have a major problem hooking up whenever I dump the clutch. I seem to spin all the way through first, so I tend to feather it until I get traction.

I just ran my car at the track with my new 3:73's and I ran 3 runs before I got the launch and traction good....If your using street tires you definatly wanna lower the air pressure to like 20-25lbs....I didi that and they hooked nice...But I agree with the DR's though.

I think even if your car is stock you will have problems hooking up anywhere. And what do you meen by hooking up like hooking up atthe track or on the street? Obviously slicks would work the best atthe track but I dont think you really would have enough power to spin those. You should just look into drag radials and maybe sub frames.

RE: Traction w/ Gears
I'm an auto and really don't have any traction issues in straight line acceleration with the exception of the second gear "chirp" which I LOVE lol... I haven't really dont any hard launches usually just flooring it from a standstill. I'm sure if I brought the rpm's up to 2k and launched that would be a little bit of a different story but no real need for that.
