RE: Modular Motors - Differences, pros, cons, etc...
96-98 2V suffered from a poorly flowing intake and low lift cams. The heads were ok and with a good port job can flow quite well. The 1 inherent flaw with all 4.6's compared to 5.0's is very small bore size of the cylinder. Stock its 3.552 and the 5.0 was a 4.0 bore and allows the car to make more horsepower Naturally Asperated. Throw a supercharger on a 4.6 and the bore problem is easily masked.

So dollar per HP/TQ, what's better to go with? PI swap, or S/C? (PS, difference between supercharger and procharger...?)
As for the PI swap, I'm sure there's tonnes of info on it on these forums, so I'll look around, but just to be lazy, how much would a full swap cost in used parts, and what kinda shop time would I be lookin at? Same goes for a supercharger...

Say, I heard from this new company near me that with an H pipe, as in the stock one on the 96-98, you lose power after 4k. They also said that with a catless X pipe that will be not as much of a problem. So you guys are saying that it's the bore and the intake that are the problem with the 96-98s? What about the pipes?
