first off let the pros handle the gears, no butts and i have a bbk xpipe with no cats and i want to put the bbk shorties but will i notice sound or performance gains well enough for 300 dollars

I just installed long tube headers on a 95 Z-28 the other day.... and i have to say, it was a bitch, it took about 12 hours all together.

Ive got BBK shorties and let me tell you, they arent fun. I hope you have another form of transportation or dont plan on going anywhere. I took mine to a mechanic and even helped him work on it and still it took 2 days. There are a couple of bolts on the passenger side that are VERY HARD to get to. We drilled a hole behind the tire into the engine bay to get a swivel in there to tighten up a bolt. Totally frustrating. I would much rather do header work on a 302. Just put a set of L/T Hookers on a 302 and did it in about 5 myself.

You will notice a little sound improvement. You are really only gaining like 5-10 hp so if you feel anything it will be minor. The car does do a little better on top end but Im trying to do all the bolt ons i can do. Gears is next for me.
