i bought this same kit off ebay for 40$ it fit fine and did what its supposed to, the only thing i dont like is the metal conducts heat, thing gets hot, real easy to install tho, took less than 10 minutes

I don't know that that aluminum tube can actually warm up the air going in by much....

Figure the air is getting sucked from under the fender. It has little time to pick up heat and if it does it is cooling off the tube.

One of these days I am going to borrow a thermocouple from work and do some temp measurememnt under the hood.

In either case it would be easy enough to insulate the aluminum pipe on the outside with a piece of pipe insulation etc. Also throwing a small towel moist with cold water would be aneat test to try.
