Default Gears and tires?

I want to get 4.10 Gears but don't want to be spending a crap load of money on new tires for the car to hook up. How bad are 4.10's on Hancook 245/45/17's? how bad is the car with the 4.10 gears? if you stomp the gas is it going to just sit there and burn? I just don't want to waste $830 for the parts and install and find out i have to spend more for tires. help me out here guys. Is there anything else I can do to my car for around that price for nice horsepower including parts and install charge. I want faster Acceleration.

Right now I have a 99 Convertible Automatic Mustang GT with American thunder flows, BBK CAI

can someone please help me out with this whole gear and tire thing. By the way if I got 3.73's would there still be a huge difference in acceleration, and would I have to have better tires to hook up?

i have the 4.10s with a fully stock suspension except for it being lowered with the eibach sportlines. of course i have a 5spd tranny but have no traction problems...that is unless i want to have traction problems

You shouldn't have that much of a problem hooking with 4.10's. Next time around though, get some DR's.
