Default Reverse grinding??

Ok ever since i got my 00GT 5spd it grinds when i try to put it in reverse, ive tryed sitting with the clutch all the way in for a couple minutes and that normally doesnt work. I just tryed putting it in 1st and pulling up a little bit and that has worked every time. I just found out that it also works everytime if u just put it in 1st and dont pull up. Anyways... i think my 2000gt 5spd has a T-45 transmission??, but does any1 elses do this when u try to put it in reverse without putting it in 1st? and if this does happen, have u guys found anything else out that stops it? Thanks

My 99 will grind a little if you dont wait a few seconds,a friend drove it and ground it every time he put it in reverse.Mine wont go into reverse at times unless you put it in neutral and let out clutch for a moment.Just the nature of the beast I figure......................Gary99gt

alot of cars do that. there is no synchro for the reverse gear on most cars, but I dunno anything specific about the stang transmissions.

put it in 1st then into reverse or you can pump the clutch a few times and it should go in fine.

I heard somewhere that if you want it to not grind u put it in any gear first, i usually use 4th then to reverse because it stops the tranny from spinning from when the clutch wasnt pushed in. Thats the explaination i heard i dont know if its right or not.

I have a 2001 GT 5spd, its my first mustang so Im not quite sure if its natural for the car or not, but sometimes going from neutral to 1st gear, it feels impossible to get it in gear. I put the clutch all the way in, and the shifter just sticks and i really gotta push hard to get it in gear. It'll always work if i put it into 2nd or 3rd then pull it into 1st, but is this normal??

mine grinded too, then someone on here said push the clutch in for like 3sec, and it doesnt grind. another person said put it in fith before reverse, so i do both of those, and it hasnt grinded since.
