Default tuners

If I have a relatively stock GT (just intake), no forced induction or major mods. will a tuner like a diablo etc... really improve my performance?? Should I purchase one, what are the pros and cons.

I say go for it, I've actually had two and sct, and a diablo, however I'll be running on a custom tune from now on. I noticed a very slight difference.

You'd be better off spending the money on suspension... When you go to change your rear end gears, you'll want a tuner.

Even though I have the same mod as you, I'm getting a tuner soon. You can use them to adjust timing, which gives power. If you ever get an off-road pipe, you can use it to turn off the check engine light, instead of buying MIL Eliminators. You can adjust your speedometer whenever you get gears or different wheel sizes. You can tune it for the octane you want to get at the pump. You can also adjust air/fuel ratios, if you ever get a gauge. If you have an automatic like me, you can firm up shifts. All of these reasons are why I'm getting a tuner. Since I will already have the tuner, I can go ahead and install things I would need one for (i.e. gears).
