Default dynos

this may be a dumb question, but I dont know too much about dynos: People are posting with sigs that say stuff like 234rwhp 253 tq, from the dyno, but why is that less than the 260 stock hp that a GT has?? its less on a dyno? forgive my lack of knowledge, can someone help me out.

Dynos measure power at the wheels, factory ratings are at the crank. You lose about 15% of your power in the drivetrain.
