2003 leather wrapped steering wheel

guys, my steering wheel is starting to come apart. there is like this rough spot on the top of the wheel from I guess where i lay my hands. Now if it gets any kind of moisture on it, it starts to chip off in my hands. Can you cut the leather wrapping away and just have the normal wheel like on the V6? or am I going to have to buy another wheel?

i'm not sure but if you cut it you might be left with just the bare metal

I would agree. I think you have a cpl options though. 1, go buy a steering wheel cover from wally world. 2. Buy a new steering wheel 3. Go to the junk yard and get a used one. I am sure it will be less of a hassle and more cost effective to go with 1 or 2.
