They say that royal purple is no better than the other leading full synthetics. Your just paying twice as much. Studies have shown it produces no more power or less friction or last longer etc etc etc. . Just make sure you dont use a waxy oil like castrol or vavoline. They are not all that great for your engine, or so they say. Quaker state is supposed to be really good.

Full synthetic is actually cheaper annually, if you are able to extend the drain interval. No matter which brand you choose, check their warranty.

Matts00GT is correct. Motorcraft oil is only a synthetic blend, meaning partially synthetic.

Also... I work at advance auto and we had a sale on our advance brand oil for $.98 , its comparable to Havoline
I work there also part time, full time college student. We haven't had that sale yet, and I would never buy our oil. Just something scares me about it. Do you know who the manufacturer is? I've heard Havoline made it, but I think thats a crock.

Not true. You can switch to synthetic all the way up to around 60,000 miles. Anything over that and I would stick with your usual oil, UNLESS you were using a synthetic blend for all prior oil changes. Then you could switch to synth at a later mileage.
