noise from rear wheels
I have been getting a noise from my rear wheels, its kind of like a whining type noise as if my brakes are dragging for a few seconds after i have the brakes applied and the car stopped. it seems to happen quite frequently. i had this noise for awhile and i had the rear calipers and brakes replaced, but its still doing it. the reason i originally had the calipers replaced was because i started hearing the squeal constantly when driving, when the shop went to look at the brakes they said my caliper pistons siezed up. why would this be happening? i replaced them with ford oem loaded calipers. please any info is appreciated.

RE: noise from rear wheels
My 97 is doing the same thing. On the rt rear axle you can see that fluid has leaked out.
Me thinks George has hit it on the head. Wheel / Axle bearing. Anyone had this replaced? What kind of repair cost is it?

RE: noise from rear wheels
my 04 was doing that, a constant high piched squeeking/whinning noise, ford rebuilt my entire rear end.
the techs could not pin-piont where the noise was coming from, so they just replaced everything.
