Trying to get a little info. before I go finalize the sale for the 00' GT. What are cars around that year getting for gas mileage? Not a big deal to me what it gets Ill hammer down no matter what but I'd like to know. Also I know the cars come with 3:23's or 3:27's. After modding the car are those gears alright or would it be best to change them? I hate doing gears cause it plays with your speedometer and I hate screaming down the highway. If I left the stock gears on with some mods would I be able to have the power I need to beatup some cars?

its either 3.08s or 3.27s, and i would swap them for 4.10s, as far as gas milage, my buddy gets 21 in his 99 with 4.10s

they come with 3.27's and if you decide to go with a 4.10 gear youll only lose fuel efficiency on the highway. You can purchase a piece to go in your speedometer to fix the mph being off or you can buy a tuner to adjust it for you. Ford says the GT will get 17/21 but it all depends on how you drive.

a few 99 and i think 00s came with 3.08s that were deluxe packages, the ones with the 16" rims and the striped version

I'm not aware of any 99-00 gt's that came with 16" rims and/or 3.08 gear ratio...sure your not talking about 96-98's?

The PI GTs are 17/26 according to ford...

eh...somewhere between 21-26, I just looked on a few sites to try and find it and those are the numbers I found.

one of my buddies had a 99 GT that was a deluxe convertible with an auto tranny and came with 3.08 gears

At 90% Hwy and 10% city (Hwy @ 75)......I got 23.82 MPG. I just did this last week so that is why I got it down to the point
