I would consider "posing" pretening to have something that you don't have. If you have a saleen body kit, its ok that it says saleen because saleen made it. If you have a cheap knock-off and you write saleen on the back, youre posing. Same with the mach 1 chin spoiler/grill delete on a regular gt; they look fine by themselves but you'd be posing if you wrote Mach 1 on the side of your car. My .02

I agree with those that say "rice" is anything that's over the top or just plain ridiculous. And to make sure we're all on the same page, remember that there is a big difference between "tuners" and "ricers." Tuners like to make their rides look pretty, but also make their cars go fast like hell. Ricers on the other hand, they just throw a fart can and altezzas on their beater and call it a day.

I tried not to over do mine. What do you all think of it? I don't consider it rice. I've been told by many speed shops, car shows, and even the speed shop guy who did my dyno tune that it was done tastefully and everything lines up nicely. Also yes I've removed most ofthe GT badges except for the trunk. The side badges says SOHC 281. NOT 281 Saleen. Yes I have Saleen side scoops, and Cobra R 2000 Front end, but I'm NOT trying to pose like any other car. I just like the looks of something mix matched if it's done right.

Stang2000,really nice car, but the headlights are killing it for me. I am more of a fan of darker lights on darker colors. BUT its still an awesome car. Good job, put enough money into it.

ORIGINAL: memphissfinestok here's another question what constitutes posing? some say that getting a saleen body kit would be trying to pose as a saleen, but just about everyone has a mach 1 chin spoiler and grill delete, are we posing as mach's? i personally think that subtle touches are ok but too much would be overdoing it. I was considering getting a mach 1 hood and shaker but decided not too because i already have the chin spoiler and grill delete. just a lil confused. lol
Modding a car is a personal choice. If the shaker scoop is functional then I would get it. If I had the cash I would have a navigator V10 in mine with it's 310HP and 425lbs./ft. of torque. Build your car for yourself and not to try to fit a definition. Mark

stang2000: your car is done nicely. i personally like the headlights, but agree that they would have looked better if they were the smoked ones.
I do have one question though, how did your air ride affect the performance of your car? I had an s-10 before i got my mustang, and I did mostly show things to it. I was going to add air to it but was afraid that i would lose way too much power (it was a 4 cyl) due to all the added weight of the air stuff.

as for the stangs that were posted.....to each his own i guess. i see that there was a lot of time and money put in to both, and there are certain things on both that i like/dislike. the roof scoop is kinda over the top, but at least it was molded on and not glued/rivoted. the wing that looks like a parkbench could be better, but again...not my build so i guess whatever.

the "saleen" one needs to just stop being a poser. be happy that you at least have a GT. i agree that it is ok to add other body kits/parts (saleen, cobra, etc.) just dont put those badges on.

I think it's not affected at all in my opinion. I'm not a track driver so it really doesn't bother me that much. It's actually a nicer ride with it on.
