Care to do a write up on the install? I'd love to get cams, but don't want to pay the price for install. I've been quoted $1800 before.

I'm thinking about going with the VT Stage 2 Blower Cams with the Comp Valve springs from vt engines.

I've had the valve covers off before because I installed new ones and I installed the SC.
I paid 1000 for the install WITH the tune. The chip was like 300 and the tune with dyno (that sucked) was like 175, plus all the tax etc.

I was gonna do it in the shop up in q town myself, but I thought for 500 or a little less they could deal with the hassle.

BTW monkey, its a bad idea to do the cams now and the blower/engine later. If you truly are going to go with boost and a new engine, the best route is a set of custom cams setup for your blower/engine combo, and how much whp you want to make.

well, dude... My plans are to build a forged motor ready for a blower, so in theory stage 2s would work... but I want a stable idle and don't feel the need to rev to 7 grand, so yeah stage 1 blower cams....

im sure stage 2 would be fine... my car has trouble idling... but thats stage 3 cams... stage 2 is softer... its noticable but not to to rough.

sweet. I know, it's gonna be a custom engine build. What sucks is the only mustang place within a reasonable distance of my house is specialized in the classic stangs... they can get me parts, but don't do work on the newer ones.

I need to make some phone calls to various companies and engine builders and see what would be my best bet. I want about 400+ rwhp that's comfortable, and uses pump gas (92 or 93 octane premium). Gonna be forged and cammed..

as to blower cams, they don't increase boost, but they make better use of it, right?
