Default Strange Noise: exhaust leak?

Okay, i have just noticed a strange noise two days ago. It kind of sounds like a ting or bpiling liquid. It kind of sounds like it is coming through the shifter base and radio area. I know for sure it's not the compressor. Im thinking it could be an exhaust leak, but what exactly does a exhaust leak sound like. Like a bunch of little tings? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

An exhaust leak sounds like a ticking noise. If you have an o/r midpipe you wouldnt smell an exhaust leak since your probably used to smelling gas anyways.

Notice anything weird with the transmission? It sounds like it could be clutch related, given the description of the area you say it's coming from... Like said earlier, an exhaust leak is usually a "ticking" noise and you would probably notice a slight change in exhaust tone and the overall sound of the car...

Well i just got done trying to figure out where the hell the noise is coming from and i can hear it best when i stick my head in the right front tire well. The sound from the outside sounds more like a ticking noise then i previously thought so i am hoping it's only a minor exhaust leak. As for the smell of exhaust, i am used to it because of the O/R X-pipe so i can't really tell a difference. I am taking it to a shop tomorrow to have all the header bolts tightened and hopefully that will do the trick. We shall see!
