Question about 2001 GT Brakes
For one, this brake setup is being used on a 2nd Gen Taurus SHO. I got some ideas from my usual forum haunts, but I wanted you guys input as well, since they came on your cars in the first place.
After some (extremely) sprited driving, I went to bleed the brakes to remove the boiled fluid, and whatever gas developed in the system. Instead, I'm finding myself replacing my calipers.
Passenger side:
Driver's side:
In addition to the vaporized piston boots, and one half vaporized slide pin boot, one of the calipers spread itself about 3.5mm. Do many Mustang GT owners experience this? If so, is there any sort of fix or it, or do you buy calipers and pads in bulk? lol The pads I was/am using are PFC Carbon Metallic.
Thanks for any responses.

RE: Question about 2001 GT Brakes
This seems all too familiar
If you're going to be doing extremely spirited driving, it would be better for you to get some aftermarket brake equipment. Can't say I've heard of this problem though... most people who drive that hard have already taken the step to replace the factory brake stuff with better equipment.

Funny... I vaguely recall someone saying that I'd get more responses if I posted in this forum.
And as fas ar upgrades go... this is an upgrade to what the car came with from the factory! Factory was a 10.2" rotor, and a single piston cast iron caliper. Those were some scary *** brakes on this car, let me tell you...
