Default Need Speedo Help Please

Hey everyone. Need some help. Sometimes my speedo doesn't work. Then if i shut the car off and wait like 10 secs and start it, it will work. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be.

Define what you mean by "doesn't work." Does it misread? Get stuck? Won't move? We need more information here.

Does your needle move at all when you first start the car? Did you install an aftermarket gauge overlay?

The gauges are stock. The needle does not move at all like if the car is not moving. Also forgot to mention that when driving when the speedo is not working the odo does not accumulate milage and at idle the car seems to idle a bit lower.

I would suggest you take your car in for maintenance, maybe your gauges are bad or it could be something more serious.

Ya know the stupid part, my brother in law is the head mechanic at our local Ford dealer, and he has no clue. He tried to reflash the system but it wouldn't take.
