Default tuning questions

Hello all,
I just put anew motor in my mustang 4.6L and I was wondering what are the advantages/disadvantages of a custom tune?? Thanks

custom tune to exactly what your car has, in your air, temp, yadda. they can be pricey or a complete waste if you use someone who doesnt know what they are doing. Canned tunes are usually pretty conservative. get more power outta custom most likely. If you say where you are from, maybe someone can suggest a good tuner in your relative area.

i would check with MMR... modularmustangracing.com.... they have a place somewhere in cali and i think its in that area... they may be able to refer someone to you if not... i would definatly tune it though.. with having cams, internals, and a blower.

with your setup it is suicide to attempt to run the car hard without a custom tune.

hey brian i am also in the san francisco, as far as tuners go there are a few options
gimme a day and i'll see if i can find them all
there is a shop in sc named apex motorsports but i have no personal exp.. there are also a few private tuners that are a bit popular in the bay area forums.. but yea lemme see what i can find for ya and its cool seeing a nice mustang in san fran... tired of all the stangs on 20's....

pm if ya need anything i'll see if i can help, i'm still a newb tho heh but i've been doing alot more research than getting my hands dirty=/ (dont have a garage to store my tools so we moved it to my house in arizona) so i cant really do much on my own tinkering wise heh hafta keep renting from kragen
