also i believe if you run synthetic it will last longer. i only change my oil every 6k on mobil 1 synthetic on my 5.0 liter, and my mach 1. you can go twice as long on it. if you got a lot of city miles that isn't the best. it's the stop and go miles that cut the lifespan of the cars.

I sold my 88 LX 5.0 with almost 200000 miles on it. Had some body rust fro road salt but the engine ran strong and burned NO oil.

The kid that I sold it to called me about 3 mo later. He was excited - said that when he opeend up the motor to add some heads it was like freaking new.

All I did was break in with regular dinosaur oil and then switch to mobil 1 My oil was changed from 4500 miles to 14000 miles depending on if it was winter ( I had no garage )

The car was driven normally with an ocasional romp to loosen up the carbon
