Default Replacement Gauges 97GT

Ok here is my problem. I just bought a 97 GT and some idiot installed APC white face gauge overlays. I call him an idiot because he didn't put the needels back to there original spot. Does anyone know where I can get replacement gauges (other than ebay) or can I maybe take the car to the dealership and have them put things back to where they should be? Jim

If I were you I'd try and figure out where things need to be. There are machines that tell you what RPM you're at so you can just have your car running and adjust the RPM gauge. I know that my car idles about 1/16" below the 1000 mark. Fill your gas take up and put that needle where you want it. Drive your car for 30 minutes and set the temperature gauge in the middle. the battery gauge can just go in the middle. oil pressure can just go in the upper section. For the speedo, just drive parallel to a friend and keep adjusting it till it's right. Use cruise control for that.

The tach is the only thing that seems to be working correctly, the temp gauge stays the same weather the car is on or not. One more question my experience with oil pressure gauges is that they fluctuate depending on engine speed. However when you start the car it goes up and never moves regardless of engine speed. Is that a typical mustang attribute? Also I have noticed that when traveling around 70mph and you hammer down on it you can hear a small thud in the trans area when it shifts down. Does that sound like a mount issue? Again thanks for any help. Jim
