Built auto's will win at the 1/4 mile and 4r70w's are stronger then the 5 speed...
5 sp is much more fun around town and an auto will eat up about 20rwhp over a 5 sp so a Tq coverter and valve body upgrade will even that out quickly. Most people who bash auto's have never driven a well set up one.

MT will always 0wn AUTO.
MT will always 0wn AUTO.
I beg to differ...
I'm 16 years old and the first car I drove was auto. I thought it was boring (having 3 cars with MT and 1 with AT). I drove around the BMW until I got my mustang GT with MT, and I learned to drive it in 3 hours. My dad, 35 years driving, owns a shelby cobra and said this car is a tough car to handle. His DD is a MINI cooper S 6-speed manual, and I can't drive it. Too small of a clutch.
Where I'm getting at is that if you younger guys want to learn MT, do it now!!! Because the older you get, the more used to auto you will be and manual will be much harder to learn.
So in a sense, I'm lucky because me moms BMW is 4-matic, and I use that in her car.
4 cars - all manual tranny. No other way to go

Untill you start making power. The fastest shifter in the world cant shift as fast as an auto. Thats why all the real drag racers run powerglides. Manual may always own auto but powerglide will always own manual.
